Sail Date: Mar 2019
Cabin: Bella Balcony Stateroom

This was our first MSC cruise and we chose it as it was an inaugural cruise and we wanted to experience the best of MSC. We have taken many inaugural cruises from Southampton with NCL and RCI and have thoroughly enjoyed them especially the extra effort the cruise lines make for inaugural sailings.

However with this cruise it had all of the special feeling of a North Sea ferry trip, no effort was made by MSC to make this memorable, not even a glass of bubbly when you arrived on the ship.

The ship is generally OK, the hype MSC made about how beautiful it is is way over the top, some parts are very good, others distinctly average.

Cabin Review

Bella Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B1

The cabin is situated in the rear section of the ship, the design has the cabins setback from the edge of the ship so you overlook the life boats. A large metal overhang from the top deck also shades the balcony of these cabins. 11326 is half way up this section so you do get sun on the balcony, however any higher and you would be in the shade most of the day. The storage facilities consisted of a single small wardrobe, OK for 2 people for a week but anything longer and you would be struggling. The cabin did not have any tea or coffee making facilities and strangely for a new ship only 1 USB point next to the power sockets, no power sockets are situated near the beds.

The new MSC toy “ZOE” an Amazon Echo type device did not work throughout the cruise and seemed a pointless gimmick.

The cabin creaked and groaned continually with any movement of the ship, speaking to other guests most of the cabins had the same problem, no sleep one night due to the noise.
