Cruise on NCL many many times. Getting on this ship was awful. The line was at least a mile long. Many many people did not make it on the ship two hours before and there was no information given or help for elderly that had to walk or wait in the hot line. The ship departed late because It took so long to check everyone in. Service for our room was very good. Very clean and always made up timely and we never saw them which is a great thing. It means they always timed cleaning our rooms perfectly. Specialty restaurants were excellent with great service. This is the only ship we have been on that enforced adult pools, hot tubs and areas. THAT WAS THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS SHIP! Water slides and rope walk was great. HOWEVER, the service for drinks on this ship was the worst we have ever experienced. When we were by the pool or in the adult section, we may have been asked if we wanted a drink maybe once a day if that. The friendliness of the staff was blah. We actually overheard a woman giving a complaint to one of the officers and he was really rude to her. We have been on other ships where we have made friends with our drink service person, taken pictures with them, swapped emails, etc. and then of course tipped them extremely well. Never made that connection with anyone on this ship. In the casino, service was even worse. And the layout of the casino is bad. You always felt like you were in the hallway. This ship did not have easy access to the outsides of the ship to walk around outside. If you did make it outside, all you could see were life boats in your face. Balconies in the rooms were extremely small. Food at the buffet was pretty much the exact same every day. We have been on the Dawn many times. I think NCL should make the service employees on that ship mentors/trainers for the Breakaway and the Epic. Those two ships really need help. I went on an excursion in Mexico renting ATVs through the ship on the third day. I received second degree burns on my leg. Filled out a report at the excursion but never heard a word from anyone asking how I was. Will not be going back on the breakaway!

Mexico was nice, Belize City was gross, dirty and disgusting, Jamaica was nice.
