WoW!!

We planned this cruise a year ago. We are a family of 4 on our 3rd cruise. We travelled with another family of 3, first-timers.

This ship has EVERYTHING!! We were bored NOT AT ALL!! The kids had a blast. After a full week, there are spots on this ship we still have not seen.

Central Park View Balcony

Cabin 1J

Less than average on the cleanliness. Just an average room. The balcony was oversized. Very happy with the Central Park location. The Boardwalk (toward the aft) might have proven quite noisy.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

Just a beach day. Great Bay Beach. Got a water taxi across the bay, $7USD/pp. Rented 2 chaises and an umbrella for $20USD.

We could see the ship right across the bay. Jet skis, cold beer, lots of sunshine!

San Juan

We tried to get the Segway tour here but that excursion fell through so we went on a walking tour. My hubby and our 2 boys (ages 12 and 15), really enjoyed our day here. Went to the San Cristobal Fort, which is closest to the port, but then opted to hike down to El Morro. It was a beautiful walk, lots of others making the same trek on foot. It only took us about 30 min. The boys loved the fort, so much history, very picturesque. Later we found out the admission fee $7USD/pp (kids 12 and under are free), allowed entry to both forts.

We wandered the streets of Old San Juan, making our way back to the ship. We felt quite safe as there were a lot of other tourists wandering around as well (there were 2 ships at port).

Lots to eat, not to mention the sights, some wares for sale at the dock.

Labadee

We waited out a bit of rain in the morning and so by the time we hit the beach, it was PACKED!!

We made it just in time for their picnic lunch but my oldest son and hubby could only get a pre-packaged sandwich as the picnic shut down at 2pm ON THE DOT!! No exceptions, as there was staff to feed with the leftovers. There seemed to be quite a number of people disppointed at missing the picnic. It was a little upsetting to see the food going to the staff when paying passengers were "cut off". We don't mind sharing, everyone needs to eat but there was nothing worth eating left for the passengers. Btw...my hubby was late because he has paying for my son to do the $119 zip-line.

Additionally, it kind of sucked that we had to pay and additional $20 for my 12 yr old to play in the inflatables area near the beach. The nickel and diming continues...at least the beer was included.
