We have been cruising for a long time, over the years since we retired we have increased or length of time on the ships picking over 30 day cruises. We was so looking forward to our cruise on the Spledida as we had been with MSC around the Carabean which for two weeks it was value for money. We where due to sail from Shanghai Asia, for 28days covering a large area of Asia and finishing in Hong Kong, as soon as we where on the ship from day one we new there was something not right, we went to the buffet for lunch the first day and all the hot food was only just warm and in some cases being served cold, this continued for the rest of the cruise, we were due to eat breakfast, dinner, and evening meal in the restaurant which was pre booked, even the food in there was cold or just warm when it should have been cold. Things didn’t get better on the ship, the restaurant got worse in service, the time you had to wait for food, the food was shocking they even served food discribe on the menu that with items missing, for instance we sat at a table for 6 people, we all ordered the same starter which was salmon salad 5 was served with salmon one without, the two pieces of salmon on the salad would not cover a 50 pence piece. We I complained the excuse was they must of forgot to place the salmon on the plate. I asked he the waiter had checked the food before serving he never answered, I took that as no.
Things got worse on the ship fighting amongst passengers, poor organisation for trips, chaotic organisation when being tendered to shore, very poor performers in the theatre, only 4 performance over the 28days that was worth watching. The bars ran out of draft beers for over a week ask why, no excuse received, just a shrugg of their shoulders.
I could go on, but i will stop has there is too much to mention, just let’s say I cancelled our next cruise with MSc from the, we where due to sail April 2019 starting in Durban for 29 days, lost our deposit better than paying another 10k for the shocking way we where treated. I would not sail with them even if it was free.
Average but the fist week of cleaning was very bad we had to ask for toilet rolls, shower soap, and tissues, balcony was filthy which was not cleaned for the first two weeks, the windows was never cleaned inside or out. There was no coffe,tea,milk or ice supplied daily if you wanted these items you had to get them from the buffet.
