The Ship
First impression of the Edge was very positive. It’s a beautiful ship! There is a definite “WOW” factor when looking at the Grand Plaza with its oversized light sculpture that could be programmed for a multi-color light show timed to music. The other major interior public space was Eden at the rear of the ship. During the day it was a relaxing place to read or just enjoy the view out the glassed-in rear of the ship.
On the top deck the pool area was large with plenty of lounge chairs with choices for either shade or sun. Adjacent was the Solarium with its indoor pool and hot tub. This was a favorite space for me during the day to be lazy. At the rear of the ship was the very attractive Rooftop Garden with its palm-like metal sculptures and sweeping benches and cushioned relaxation alcoves.
The concept of the Infinite Balcony is pretty cool and gave the room a bigger feel and, with the folding doors open, it was bigger than a traditional room. Lowering the window turned off the AC, which in turn meant the room heated up very quickly - even with the folding doors closed.
The bedding was excellent - very comfortable. And, with the bed split, it was still a full twin size, which was quite adequate. There was ample storage in both the dresser (with divided drawers) and cubbyholes next to the closet.
The bath was quite nice though I could not figure out why they designed/built a ship with a heated mirror that could not be turned off and was warm (hot?) to the touch.
Our cabin was toward the back, which meant a lot of walking but also a lot of quiet.
