On this cruise, my husband declared that we weren't taking any more cruises, and his decision was based completely on this ship.
I've been on many cruises, mostly with Royal Caribbean, a few Carnival and a few Norwegian. This is the first cruise that I've gone on where I couldn't find a place to sit and relax. It got so exhausting trying to find a place to sit down that my husband made his declaration.
To start, this ship has the smallest (and darkest) Atrium that I've ever seen. Since they plan a lot of events there, like Let's Make A Deal, Bingo, etc., this is a problem. We discovered that in order to get a seat at one of those events, we'd have to show up an hour early. Who wants to have to show up an hour early to an event when they're on vacation?
The cabin was fine. Nothing special, nothing bad. The cabin steward was amazing, like most of the staff on this ship. Thank you, Brad.
The island is owned by the cruise line, but you have to pay for everything, unlike other private islands owned by other cruise lines. We spent about an hour on shore, and then went back to the ship to eat rather than pay for food. Besides, the beach wasn't that exciting. The water was dark and murky. Having just come from Cozumel, it was a big disappointment.
We always go to Mr. Sanchos and always have an amazing time in Cozumel.
Stayed in New Orleans after the cruise for New Years. Lots of history and lots of booze all in one place. Who could ask for more?
Enjoyed the ruins.
