Chose this ship because it was new. Was absolutely the worst cruise line we have ever been on, and we will never again go on an MSC Ship. They "upcharge" you for everything. Every time you step into the dining room, whether it be for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they automatically charge you $12.50 pp. The dining rooms are too small for the number of people on the ship, and having to go to dinner at 5:30 and not being able to get it switched was awful. They have to have 3 seatings because the dining rooms only hold 900 people each, on a ship of 5300 people. We had a drink package - which turned out to be awful and included only the cheapest liquors and wines that you can imagine - and again, charged a service charge every time we got a drink, even if it was water or a soda. The crew had no idea where anything on the ship was. And if you asked, instead of saying "I don't know," they responded by sending you on a wild goose chase all over the whole ship. Americans were a minority and the Europeans on the ship were extremely rude. The elevators were the worst - slow, too many people on them, etc. - an example is we walked a minimum of 10,000 steps a day on the ship because the elevators were horrible.... The door to our room was broken and it took us a whole day before anyone ever came to fix it - and the customer service staff were no help and also rude - and when we asked for a manager, we were told we were not allowed to talk to one. The whole experience was horrible.... The shows were horrible... there was one good show(a Beatles cover band) - that was it.... On New Year's Eve, they didn't even offer everyone a glass of champagne - you had to buy a bottle at the party or you didn't get a drink....And, the food in the dining room was awful. Worst meals we ever had on a ship, except for the Steak specialty restaurant - even the Asian specialty restaurant was horrible.....Also, when we got on the ship, we asked for an extra blanket for the room, and we were told no.....In addition, if you wanted to order an "American" breakfast for room service, it was $8.95 and the meal was so bad, that we called to complain about it and they took it off the bill.....Need I go on?

Cabin Review

Aurea Balcony Stateroom

Don't remember our cabin number - we did have a balcony and that was nice - you could barely turn around in the bathroom and the shower was the smallest I've ever seen... The only thing good about the ship was that it was new
