We chose this cruise because our son wanted a BIG ship and we wanted a nice Caribbean Cruise! We actually booked this later than we normally would, but we decided to take advantage of our son's college break. We know these family vacations will become further apart as he gets older. That aside, my husband & I took our college age son and his best friend on this cruise. First, this was the first cruise that Royal Caribbean enacted the KEY program. I accidentally found it while going over the excursions we had booked a few months before leaving. If you are not familiar with the Key program, it's a program that you pay for to get extra benefits. Like being one of the first on the ship, with a delicious lunch at Champs Grill on day one. So while we got to board early, we had a fantastic time roaming around the almost deserted ship and had this great lunch. We also got special seating at all the entertainment, free upgraded Wi Fi and we passed up the lines while being escorted off the ship. Easy! We were told that out of the 63000 passengers on board, there was only 300 key programs sold. I hope it is a program that they keep around!
There are no words to describe this ship. There is so much to do on board, for all ages, that you almost don't want to get off at ports! The ship is lovely. Central park both day and night is amazing. It really does feel like a walk in the park and you totally forget your out at sea! Feel like cotton candy or ice cream? Stroll on up to the board walk neighborhood. The Merry Go Round is something, and there are games for the littles that are there.
Also on that deck is the Aqua theater. What an AMAZING show. All the entertainment was top of the line! We saw the show Mama Mia! and there really were guest dancing along! It was great! All of the entertainment was wonderful!
The cabin was very nice and clean. There was plenty of storage for the two of us. The bathroom seemed a bit small for the room, and the shower was really small. At least it seemed that way.
