There is nothing special about the NCL’s private island, Harvest Caye. The excursion we wanted to book was closed with no explanation. Our “plan B” excursion was only available after 12 o’clock when it’s getting hot. So we end up walking around the 75 acre island for an hour and went back to the ship.
I don’t understand why cruise lines want to visit Belize city. The ship had to anchor quite a distance from the port. Tending is a drag. If you don’t book NCL sponsored excursions, you have to walk around the gift shops area confused trying to find the exit to Main Street.
Our housekeeper gave us excellent “lip service”. She came to our cabin to say hello around 4pm and said “don’t worry about your luggage, I’ll get it as soon as possible”. Two hours later we stil didn’t get them. My wife happened to spot them around the service elevator area. So we self-served ourselves.
We took the western Mediterranean cruise on Epic with a Haven 2-bedroom suite and loved it. We were disappointed with the Breakway 2-bedroom suite. The layouts were quite different. Let me list the things I don’t like:
1. Balcony is very small
2. The bed for the second bedroom is a bunker, apparently for family with small children.
3. The sofa bed in the living room is very uncomfortable. It’s a one piece foam with no spring.
