After sailing on the Allure 7 years ago we thought we would try the Symphony. The new cruise terminal was great as was embarkation and debarkation. Got to terminal at 10:45 and was on the ship at 11:05 and went down to Park Café for lunch which turned out to be our favorite for breakfast and lunch. We loved the room with the larger balcony which seemed longer and had the bed by the window a first for us. It made the room bigger and easier to get to the closets etc. Loved that they loaded our cards with the free3 drinks that would could use in all the restaurants great for wine at dinner.

At 1pm cabins were ready and noticed that there were suitcases down the hall lined up where they bring them from below. Well they never delivered any of the bags to the cabins people had to go and get their own bags. Which is not good, one guy grabbed his bag and put it under their bed and found it the last day of the cruise and it wasn’t even his bag. Ours were still not on the deck at 4:30 and when we met our cabin steward, he went looking for ours and a few other people’s bags. Our bags were found about 5:20 and he brought them to us. Brian was one of the best cabin stewards we have had on 26 cruises. I just wish Royal would send us the survey so I can give him a great review.

First morning early went to the Windjammer and it was the last time there. The place was way too small and they had no cooked to order station no omelets’ or eggs Benedict. The sunny side up eggs were already on plates not freshly cooked out of a pan. We had booked the Solarium Bistro for a few dinners since we really like the one on the Anthem. First night dinner all the appetizers were set up like the buffet but were mostly cold, dry and tasteless. The bigger problem they did not serve cooked to order main courses like the Anthem. They had the same buffet set up and served cold, dry and tasteless dinners, never went back. Went to the main dining room once had a double order of escargot and it was served cold. The strip steak was cooked perfect but was dry and tasteless never went back for dinner but did go for a breakfast so I could get my eggs Benedict.
