My husband and I are a retired couple and run an AirBnB but, we never seem to have the finances to afford a fabulous holiday and, we most definitely did not think that we would ever be able to afford a cruise. Anyway, friends of ours were chatting about their upcoming cruise and they mentioned there was a very special price on offer. Hubby and I enquired at the MSC office in Morningside and we were given the special price of R6850.00 for both of us with a balcony off our cabin. The offer was irresistible and we embarked on a holiday of a lifetime. The nightly entertainment was out of this world...the food was really good although I would have liked to see more cooked veggies. The trip to the island was a pleasant experience with well-designed procedures for moving from ship to ferry. The library, the games, the music in the lounges, dining a la carte and the very helpful staff were all added bonuses. Our cabin had a balcony (YAY)...the double bed, pillows, and linen were very comfortable, there was also a hair-dryer in the room. The bathroom with shower, toilet, and basin is a fair size and well-fitted.

The cocktails were not great. We purchased a package for 18 cocktails and do believe that a little more time and effort could have been put to making them. When I drink a cocktail, it should be refreshing and taste like more...some of the cocktails just tasted of pure alcohol. So, tastier cocktails (like the Amurula Magic mmmmm) may enhance the traveller's experience.

By the time we finished our 5 day cruise, we felt amazing and very well rested. We will never forget our time spent on the MSC Musica and we do hope that another affordable cruise will surface towards the end of the year so we can relive the experience.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B2

The cabin was very comfortable and we enjoyed having a balcony.

The people next door were very noisy but it was fine when we closed the door.

The temperature of the room was great.

Comfortable bed and good amenities
