Trip Details
  • Sail Date: Nov 2018
  • Destination: the Southern Caribbean
  • Cabin Type: Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 1C

We sailed on Reflection in November 2018 on an 11 night western and southern Caribbean cruise. The ship itself is beautiful and quite modern. The staff are very friendly and the food is very good, especially Murano, which is worth every penny you pay.. The itinerary was great. The entertainment was pretty good, and there are a lot of onboard activities, our favorite being Silent Disco. The stateroom itself was ok, but the beds are not terribly comfortable. The room layout could also be better, but this would be difficult to do without gutting the entire ship.

I would give a 5* rating, but there are little things missing that are available on other lines, such as self serve laundry facilities, a slightly better pool setup, and quicker "graduation" through the affinity levels. We will definitely sail with Celebrity again, but they would get a perfect rating if some of the above issues were addressed. Just my humble opinion.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 1C
Cabin 1C 8219

Why do most cruise lines set up their rooms with the entrance door colliding with the bathroom door, and quite often with closet doors also right by the entrance? The best setup is with Princess, who have the bathroom door inside the room, and a walk-in closet also inside the room. This way, there is no logjam at the entrance.

The beds on Reflection seem a little dated and need to be replaced, as they are not very comfortable. The room setup, as noted above, could be better.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

Aruba

We took a local bus to Eagle Beach on our own. It costs $2.50 per person ech way, which is much cheaper than a taxi, and it drops you off right at the beach, which is one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean.
