Allure of the Seas Cruise Review by jean-lynd
- Sail Date: February 2019
- Destination: Western Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Interior
Dining - We ate breakfast at the Solarium 4 times and lunch there 3 times. We had MTD and ate in the main dining room every night. Got room service continental breakfast one day, we had breakfast at Johnny Rockets one day and the Wipeout Cafe one day. The room service breakfast served our needs because we had an early excursion. The Johnny Rockets breakfast was great but the Wipeout Cafe was bad. Never had crowds or lines anywhere we ate. We ate at the Doghouse one day and Sorrentos a couple of times and we enjoyed both of them. Never ate in the Windjammer. We never had crowds or lines at any of the places that we ate. We had the Deluxe beverage package and that was great! We poured our alcoholic beverages into our coke cups and used plastic straws we brought with us. The cups kept the drinks very cold and they didn't get watered down because the ice didn't melt. Also, couldn't spill them! We had fun trying a lot of the different cocktails. We paid $39 for the package and had no trouble getting our moneys worth. We used the freestyle machines from time to time and I would frequently get a can of coke zero at the bars to take back to the cabin and keep in the fridge so I could have soda in the cabin.
Entertainment and Activities - We played a lot of trivia, watched some of the competitions in the sports court, enjoyed the themed parties in the promenade every night. We enjoyed the Headliner - Adam Kario. We loved the aqua show. We were disappointed by the ice show and blue planet. Didn't see Mama Mia. Loved the Quest!
Service - We found the service to be wonderful everywhere on the ship. Every employee we came in contact with was personable and pleasant.
Ports - We wondered around on our own in Nassau for a couple of hours. No complaints.
Cozumel - Did the Tulum and 5th avenue experience ship's excursion. We enjoyed Tulum but we would have preferred to come right back to the ship instead of wasting time on 5th avenue. This is a long excursion but we didn't have any problems with the ferry ride or the bus ride.
Roatan - We did the Victor Bodden Fun in the Sun excursion on our own. We really enjoyed it. Our tour guide Elan was very good and we saw a lot of the island and enjoyed visiting with the monkeys and sloths. We could have spent more time at the beach. We got some food at Bananarama but the service was very slow and used up most of our time there. Were only able to enjoy the water for about 20 minutes.
Costa Maya - We booked the Maya Chan beach resort for the day. We loved it but we were not able to enjoy the water. It was very windy and there was a lot of seagrass making it difficult to get into the water. We did relax in the floating chairs for about an hour. The food, drinks and service were great and so was the beach.
We would love to do this cruise again! No real complaints

Costa MayaWe booked the Maya Chan beach resort. We loved it but we didn't get to do a lot of the water activities we wanted to do because it was very windy and the seagrass made it very difficult to get in the water. We loved everything else about the place and would go back again.View All 2,616 Costa Maya Cruise Port Reviews
