I chose this cruise because of the date, itinerary and reputation of cruise line. While some aspects were good, my husband and I were very disappointed in some ways.
Good: Food and service - friendly helpful staff (except in Guest Services). Disembarkation and retrieving luggage, comfortable bedding, chairs with foot rests on balcony, disembarkation and embarkation in ports, room was clean
Wishing for more: Room keys given at Embarkation did not work which meant spending time in long line to have them rekeyed, lack of quality talks/lectures, lack of good music (Jazz in Ensemble Lounge was good but classical duo used synthesizer, as did other single musicians), less emphasis on selling "things" (everything!), probably the hardest most uncomfortable sofa I ever sat on in stateroom, library and selections of reading material, selections of free movies in stateroom (even selections of pay to view were not good), plumbing problems twice on 9 day cruise through no fault of ours (bathroom flooded at one point)
Great tour of island, saw flamingos
Easy to take taxi to beaches - one, rocky but good for snorkeling, other, sandy and good for swimming although a lot of wind surfers around.
Very interesting description of how aloe is extracted and products made
beautiful views at sunset
Saw much of island - natural bridge, herds of wild donkeys and goats etc. Guide was excellent.
