This was our first cruise, with two girls (9 and 12) and my inlaws. We picked the ship/cruise based on timing, ports of call, and activities the kids would enjoy. My inlaws have been on probably 20 cruises, but this was their first on a ship of this size, and they were a little nervous.
Overall, everything is incredibly efficient- embarkation and debarkation especially (it was faster than getting off the plane!!)
We purchased the seabands, and I would highly recommend them, especially for kids, and if you plan to use the pools a lot-- far easier than keeping track of the card.
Cabin was exactly as seen online. Surprisingly, plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 children (9 and 12yo). Found everything to be very well thought design wise. We brought magnetic hooks which worked great for hanging bathing suits to dry. We did not have a clothesline in the bathroom, so I was very grateful for those hooks!
Loved San Juan-- walked to El Morro (the fort) which is part of the National Park system, and wandering around the colorful streets of Old San Juan. No need for a tour operator in my opinion. And we have AT&T cellular and were able to use it in the city no problem.
Great beach day. Wandered around most of the beaches. Girls had their hair braided. Did a little shopping. Food was mediocre, would love to see that brought up a notch. Enjoyed the local musicians and dancers.
