We're seasoned cruisers (49 at this point) with 7 of those being on Celebrity. We're not new to cruising, and have cruised both old ships and new ships, and accept them all with open minds as they are presented to us. Some we love, some we like, and some are not for us. We LOVED Edge! Note that we are a Generation X couple, not Millennials, not Baby Boomers. To some, age group matters when reading reviews.

First, our cabin -- We were in Aqua Class with an infinite verandah (all AQ have in infinite verandah) and super excited to try this new type of cabin category. With the earliest cruisers reporting back that it was just a window, not a true balcony, our expectations were re-set and we were not disappointed. Our infinite verandah allowed us extra space in our cabin as we kept the French doors open at all times. We opened the window frequently, including all night long in order to hear the ocean waves. There were only two instances when the captain locked them -- once while in port in San Juan for cleaning, and another time when it was raining. We considered this space to be more of a "cabin nook" where we could sit and read, enjoy a glass of wine, and just chill out while looking out at the sea and smelling/hearing the ocean. The space provided maximum privacy, much more than a balcony. It's a fairly small space, however, and shouldn't be considered a balcony at all; it should truly be considered a large open window cabin.

A few of our favorite moments on Edge were our specialty dining choices -- Eden Restaurant and Le Petit Chef. They were such inventive experiences, and we loved them both! The Eden Restaurant dining experience is really an extension of the type of performance art delivered in Eden itself. If you are not a fan of performance art, you will not enjoy Eden or the Eden Restaurant. And, if you've ever sailed Disney and experienced their Animator's Palate restaurant and enjoyed it, then you will love Le Petit Chef even more! Each course is presented via an animated story that is carried out on your table and your actual plate. If you're a vegetarian, have no fear. Your choices can be created without meat, but know that if you deviate too far from the menu, you may be watching a different meal being prepared when watching your animation (even though the correct meal will be delivered to your table).
