We went on this cruise with a local group that are friends with my daughter & her husband. Our 2 year old granddaughter was also on this cruise and my husband & I went to help split the babysitting duty with her parents. We had booked the 2 bedroom family suite because it would accommodate 5 people. It came as a complete and very pleasant surprise at the port when we received priority treatment because we had booked a suite. We were ushered onto the ship at embarkation and off the ship at every port of call by our concierge. This meant we skipped the long lines of people waiting to do the same. There were restaurants available to suite guests at breakfast and lunch as opposed to the giant buffets that most passengers ate at. I want to clarify that the food at the buffets were just as good as the restaurant menus, but if you are a person that likes a quiet meal that didn't happen at the main buffet. We had a butler that checked with us several times a day to see if we required anything and every afternoon he brought us snacks. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. They remembered our names and made us feel like family. There were constant activities taking place on board in different areas on the ship. You could find something to suit everyone's interests. The night time shows in the Theater were very well done, but The Elementz show was outstanding. The shore excursions we had were all booked by Norwegian. The excursions were organized and the ports were clean and safe. Our granddaughter got to ride a trolley & glass bottom boat in Key West, go to the beach in Belize, and swim with the dolphins and visit the Aviary in Mexico with us. It was a great time and we have plenty of pictures to prove it.

Cabin Review

Family Penthouse with Balcony

Cabin SC

This cabin has a master bedroom with a full bath and double sink, and a smaller bedroom compartment with a shower, sink & toilet. There was enough room in the master bedroom to set up a pack & play for a baby to sleep in. There were doors that added lots of privacy to whichever area you were in and they were quite soundproof. There was an eating area & living room with a balcony. The cabin was kept immaculate by the housekeeping staff.

Port Reviews

Miami

We were dropped by a coach bus right outside our terminal. Easy access.

Key West

The driver of the trolley was knowledgeable and entertaining.

Harvest Caye

Here we had a glass bottom boat tour that was excellent. The boat was a hydrofoil and a great deal of fun to ride on. The glass bottom viewing area is enclosed and makes for a very comfortable viewing area. A word of warning though, if you are claustrophobic or prone to seasickness ride on the deck.

Costa Maya

We did not book an excursion in Cost Maya, but we did watch our daughter's family swim with the dolphins. There was enough to do in the Port area that we found booking an excursion unnecessary. We visited the Aviary. This attraction is based in towers that are connected by swinging bridges and covers most of the port area. The birds are beautiful and many are nor shy! You are given a cup of bird seed when you enter to feed the birds. You need to keep a firm grip on your cup because there are birds that are not afraid to take the whole cup away from you!
