the Norwegian Getaway is a large ship holding almost 4,000 people which makes it a hard place to find a quite spot on the ship. our Cabin was 5180 next to the family cabins in our case our neighbors where quite but you could hear at times the headliner bar above us. the ship itself is very nice and modern. if you go on this ship you must see the shows Burn the floor and Million Dollar quartet these two shows are the best main entertainment we have seen on any ship, also the dueling pianos are very good also. the rest of the entertainment was just ok. the Circus Dreams and Steam dinner show was very good food but the show was about 30minutes long and not very good I wouldn't waste the extra money. the dinning in the main area was good food as usual, we also went to Ocean Blue which we found disappointing I wouldn't go to this again. we also went to the Teppanyaki Japanese restaurant which was very good. the service on the ship was great the pool bar bartender William was awesome!!! the other bars are great as well. the ports where nice Roatan you will have to do an excursion or shuttle to a beach you can book once your off the ship there are local booths which are cheaper than the ship. the port where the ship docks doesn't have a beach but it does have some shops and restaurants like other ports. Harvest Kay all you do is walk off the boat and not to far is the beach/island, and you get free lounge chairs and umbrellas, the island has zip lining etc. the island is very nice except the ocean water isn't the Caribbean water you expect. Costa Maya has a huge port with a lot of shops and restaurants swimming pole etc. all made by/for the cruise ships. you can take a taxi to mahahual beach for $8 for as many passengers as you can fit into a car its about a 15 minute ride. this areas is more of the old Mexico you can find some great deals on things t-shirts hats etc. also you can get a good message for $20 for an hour. if you want to relax find a place you like make sure to see the price of the drinks and food first because you can get a lounge chair with umbrella for $10 per chair or buy a $10 lunch or drinks for each and you get the chairs for free but be aware these places if you don't ask to see the menus first they will charge you the cruise ship price which is 2-3 times what it should be. there is about a mile or so of nice beach and every 100ft or so is a different bar/restaurant so there is many to choice from. Cozumel is a great place if want to go to beach or just stay in town the Norwegian docks in town so you can just walk off the boat in be down town. My wife and I did an all inclusive at Alegro which has a beautiful beach and ocean, the drinks are good but the food isn't all that great.
