We were on the Norwegian Epic. A terrible experience as soon as we arrived. Only one gangplanck was working so 4,000 passengers had to board through the same entry point. We waited outside in that line for 45 minutes. Then on day two the ship had a mechanical issue and we came to a dead stop at sea. From that point forward they only were able to cruise with one engine which resulted in us not going to any of our planned stops in Tortola, St Thomas, and Great Stirrup Cay (their private island in the Bahamas. We did make an unscheduled one day stop in San Juan, Puerto Rico, presumably so they could check on the malfunctions. OH, did I mention that when docking in San Juan the ship hit the pier hard enough to destroy and SINK two of the concrete platforms used for mooring the ship?

They lied about or distorted the facts concerning our plans and return times to Port Canaveral, advising all passengers to change their flights or other port transportation arrangements for a 12 hour late arrival. Then we arrived only about 5 hours late and those that had already changed their plans were stuck on the ship or in a hotel for another night.

They first offered all passengers a 50% credit to use a a future NCL cruise within 24 months, then changed it to full credit when hundreds of passengers vocally protested in the ship's atrium. Currently they are refusing to provide cash refunds to those of us who travel infrequently and I was treated rudely when I called their Customer Relations department in Miami.
