We understand ship let Port knowing there were mechanical issues with the engines. After 1st night at sea fire doors locked while we were in the lounge some minor panic no one knew what was going on. No announcement of what the issue was. Rumor was crew had a fight and required a lock down. Next boat stopped in the middle of the sea for over an hour, no explanation, staff said boat was just adjusting the schedule to arrive at first port. About an hour later Captain announced engine problems and we would miss our 2 port and were heading directly to San Jaun PR. So we were on the ship for 3 full days at sea before reaching PR. Boat was traveling at half speed 11 knots. They offered 50% off next cruise.

Next we arrived in San Jaun in the evening. Got off the boat next morning and saw large gashes in side of hull. Were told by people on the dock boat hit the dock. Relatives sent us news video. Captain never reported the incident to the guests on the boat. Next we left PR after repairs to the engine and again it failed at sea and they again canceled the final port of call Grand Strup and offered 100% credit on next cruise. So it took 3 days to get back to Port. Than day before we arrived captain notified us that we would not make the port in time for all of our return home flights. All 4,000 people had to scramble to make new reservations home. Phones on ship were jammed internet was jammed it too half a day to make new plans to get home. Long lines at guest services, people angry and upset. Communication is inconsistent and not accurate. Captain was terrible could not understand announcements. Mixed messages from each person you talked to. If they had a serious crises Iam not sure it would go very well. Very poor management of communications. They were intentionally holding back information and trying to reduce their cost exposure of the events. Clearly they did not have the best interest of the guest as first priority its was all about $$$ at NCL. Allow us to stay on the ship overnight because they got back to port late, that was a big circle jerk getting offf the boat and back on took over 4 hours of being in the terminal to re-board slepping your luggage around. The whole trip was a nightmare due to the poor management of communications on the ship and holding back information. Still to this day we do not really know what happend they wont tell the people the truth. Not a transparent organization at all. Must be better cruise lines than this.
