I was aboard the Jade for a 6 day sailing last week (Feb 2019) I frequently cruise with NCL and I love their staff and all the amenities NCL offers On my recent cruise however the word DISAPPOINTMENT doesnt even begin to describe my emotion. My cabin was VERY well kept and clean. I found it very charming compared to the super vessels I have been on. Dining in the specialty restaurants is always wonderful and never disappoints. The shows which highlighted the acrobatics of 2 wonderful performers was outstanding. Service on NCL also is top notch. I love the fact that corporate WANTs staff to engage with guests. Two of my favorite staff membes were my cabin steward and a server in the Atrium

Now for the not so great-----I was Extremely disappointed with the solo program. Our solo coordinator was given NO support by cruise director. The cruise director was present on the first sea day when I addressed the solo program and he did NOTHING to improve things. The solo coordinator was charming and tried very hard but with no suppport was unable to produce the type of solo program I am used to. I was shocked at cruise director's's disinterest in light of my wonderful prior experiences with solo get togethers on other ships. NCL was the pioneer and IS the leader in recognizing that solo travelers are one of the fastest growing demographics in the travel industry; one would not know this however from the Jade program. I HOPE with a new staff member who just came from the Breakaway coming aboard things will change for the better. I know one solo who told me she will not sail NCL again because of her dissappointment with the lack of activities, inabaility to book shows or dinners, etc for the solos. The fault lies with cruise director and NOT the solo coordinator

Cabin Review

Inside

Cabin IX

Cabin was spotless and well appointed. My steward (Ian) was a gem and I loved our corridor chats. He never failed to delight me with is lovely towel animals. On day 3 my sliding shower door fell off completely while Ian was cleaning because he told me he had called for a repair when I returned in the AM. When I returned to my cabin the shower was still not fixed and Ian called again at my request. At 5PM I was unable to take m y usual pre-dinner shower because----------the door was still off. I called Eduardo (exec housekeeper) and he responded quickly and assured me the problem would be taken care of immediately. He sympathized with me about the long delay in making the repair. When I returned to my cabin about 10PM the door was fixed
