We have taken other Norwegian cruises, and cruises offered other lines, but this was by far the worst cruise we have ever been on. We went on the ship to experience go to Havana. Our time was already limited because after booking but before sailing Norwegian had cancelled half a day. Then to have our time greatly limited in Havana because of engine trouble causing a late arrival, and Norwegian’s dismissive attitude of the concerns of guests at having so little time, was too much. NCL seemed to not care about your time and money and they do not deserve either. And the Havana disappointment was after an earlier port, at an NCL private island, had been cancelled due to rough seas..

In addition to all this the Sky is a tired ship. Its age shows and it does not have the feel and amenities of a modern ship. The food at the buffet is close to inedible and is the same day after day. In the dining rooms it is adequate. Only in the specialty dining is anything more than adequate and then barely better than average.

The excursion to Atlantis was worth it and they did a good job getting you there early before most of the Atlantis guests were up and active. It's one of those places that is worth seeing even if you do not to go there for an extended stay. In Havana we booked a tour with Cubaouting. They were great and definitely the highlight. Even though we were very late in getting to Havana, and it took even more time to get through Customs there, the staff from Cubaouting were right there when we got off. They stayed with us late into the evening and gave us a real sense of Havana, the entire city. Read more
