After trying several other cruise lines we keep coming back to Celebrity. This is about our 7th cruise with Celebrity and every time the ships are sparkling clean and the service is excellent. The food is great, to our taste, in both the main dining rooms and the "buffet" area. We usually eat in the main dining room for breakfast and dinner, and use the buffet or burger bar for lunch so that we can sit outside with our mid-day drinks:)

This is the second time we have done the 14 day itinerary in the Caribbean early in the year. I really like the 14 day cruises as opposed to shorter ones and wouldn't even consider a 7 day as you barely get on before you are planning to disembark. Although we've been to several of these ports in the past, we just enjoy being on the ship and cruising along...the port stops are just a bonus.

This cruise we were happily surprised with Grenada and Bonaire. We recommend them highly and hope to return there again on a future cruise.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 2B

Cabin 2B

Our cabin was nice, and we always like to be in this same general area on Deck 7, forward. We like being down closer to the ocean and the waves when we sit out on the verandah. The water is still way down there, but closer than on a higher deck, and the cabin layouts and furnishings are exactly the same, unless you are getting a suite. Also, there is less motion if the seas are rolling when you are on a lower floor.

Port Reviews

Barbados

This was our third time to Barbados, so we just walked around the town, which is a bit of a walk from the dock. There wasn't any shopping to speak of, but the waterfront area was nice. I would walk out and then take a cab back to the port next time.

St. Lucia

The last time we were in St Lucia we took a catamaran out to see the Pitons and snorkel. I would highly recommend doing that. However, the cruise port and surrounding area is very sketchy and not set up for walking. The sidewalks are cracked and uneven, and in some areas are non-existent. Also, the cab drivers try to get your business relentlessly as you come and go. There is nothing to do in this port unless you take an excursion.

Grenada

We loved this port. Take the water taxi, which is right next to the ship's dock, to Grande Anse beach. The cost is about 10.00 each for roundtrip and the ride takes about 30 minutes. Grande Anse beach has umbrella and chair rentals and is very nice. There are several little bars/snack shops there, too.

Antigua

This was our second or third time to Antigua, so we just walked off the ship and hired a taxi to take us to a beach. I wouldn't do this again because we had to go in the back way at some resort and then had to rent chairs. We had to hope they would pick us up and take us back to the ship. It all went fine, but next time I would do a beach excursion reserved on the ship.

Curacao

The last time we stopped in Curacao we took an excursion tour of the island, which was okay. This time we just enjoyed walking around ourselves. This is a very safe and friendly island.
