What a way to recharge our batteries after the Christmas and New Year celebrations. To us this felt like a really large ship and took a little getting use to with over 4500 guests onboard.

The ship was spotlessly clean from the outsides to the main areas and the staterooms. Our stateroom was well maintained, although for part of the cruise there was a problem with the A.C. for which we and other guests received some compensation. Some longer drop hanger storage would have been nice to accommodate my wife long dresses, but in general there was enough storage although some may have proved a little difficult to reach for people with less mobility as it was over the bed. Food onboard was excellent which was matched by the waiting on service. It took us a few days to get into the swing of cruising and to learn about all the activities that were going on around us, next time we will do a bit more research but it was fun learning and we didn't miss much in fact we ran out of time to do all the things we found we wanted to do! The ports we visited along with the excursions we went on were well managed and ran smoothly. These were in some cases an insight into the history of the islands we were visiting, with others being just chilling on a beach of white sand with warm water and a cold beer. Would we go again YES, but we would look to visit some of the other Caribbean islands as its a big world. The only down side to this adventure was getting to the port at Cape Liberty. In particular the last mile from the highway to the terminal building. This was a TOTAL shambles with traffic queuing right back to the highway both when we embarked. and disembarked even taxi's couldn't get in or out. This needs sorting and should have been sorted when the port was first opened. However once we were through the doors it was a simple procedure for embarkation and when we returned again once through the door it was back to the mayhem.

Note, There is NO shelter while waiting for a taxi and we waited for an hour and then shared a taxi back to the light rail station, with a very kind lady.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Getting from the highway to the terminal is not something I want to do again. There is no infrastructure to facilitate smooth traffic flow. No Bus and taxi lane in or out from the terminal.
