Cabin: Concierge Class Stateroom with Veranda

As a prefix I would like to note that my wife and I have considerable cruising experience with Celebrity as well as other cruise lines. This is simply a summary of our recent experiences and impressions of our Edge sailing embarking on 27 January 2019.

Embarkation: Embarking on the Edge was a breeze, best of all my cruises. The Celebrity app worked well and we were quickly on the ship retrieving our sea cards. The few security checks went quickly and smoothly. As we were sailing in Concierge we were able to get a nice embarkation lunch in the Cosmopolitan restaurant a nice way to start the cruise.

Stateroom: First and lasting impression is that it was small, smaller than verandah cabins on both Millennium and Solstice class ships. Celebrity describes the Infinite Verandah this way; “These staterooms feature the latest in design and technology, and they’re 23% larger than our award-winning Solstice® Class veranda staterooms.” Fact checked this as I really felt they were small, this is what I found, Infinite Verandah Cabin Size 201 sq. feet, Balcony Size 42 sq. feet (and not really a balcony), Solstice Concierge stateroom Cabin Size: 194 sq. feet, Balcony Size: 54 sq. feet. So in reality the total square footage of both are about the same. I think the cabin felt smaller on the Edge as the bathroom appeared quite spacious compared to the Solstice class and may have taken away some space from the cabin proper. The Verandah itself is noticeably smaller with little room for movement and you do not have the feeling of being in the outdoors. Given the choice between the Infinite Verandah and a classical Verandah I would go with the classical verandah. The Edge Infinite Verandah however has several obvious positives. As I mentioned the bathroom is well laid out with a spacious shower. The king size bed is quite nice. There is ample storage and hanger space a which very nice improvement over other Celebrity ships. Also there are many charger ports as well as electrical outlets another nice improvement. In bad weather or cold weather the Infinite Verandah would be nice, in the Caribbean it simply lets hot humid air into the stateroom.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class Stateroom with Veranda

Cabin C2

Very nice cabin although the infinite Verandah seems smaller than Verandah Cabins on Very nice cabin although the infinite Verandah seems smaller than Verandah Cabins on Solstice and Millennium class ships though promoted to be larger. The stateroom is obviously narrower. The room has ample storage space as well as charger stations and electrical outlets. It has a nice king bed which was quite comfortable which is near the door and not the verandah. It also had a nice large couch which was also comfortable to sit on. If you close the bi fold doors the verandah space is very small. If the bi fold doors are left open and the verandah window is opened it simply lets the outside air in, also make the room very noisy if underway. The room has an unobstructed view however an extended overhead above the verandah.
