Chemical/scent directive: I am chemical and scent sensitive; the chemical/scent instructions which were provided to Princess were not forwarded to the ship and were not acted on. (Neither was the bed configuration information that is always on my bookings.) If Princess does not respond to my letter to the president with some very positive assurances about this not happening again, then I will not be able to sail with Princess again. Since I had a verandah, I was able to air out my cabin. And I had an excellent room steward who immediately wiped down all the surfaces and used no chemicals after that.
Ship: The ship had been to dry dock last year. It looked good with all new carpets, deck coverings and upholstery. It is set up to hold between 3000 and 3500 passengers; there were approximately 3000 onboard. It was not well-configured and it felt crowded everywhere. If I cruised Princess again, I would not want to be on this class of ship.
The library was beyond pitiful. The ship does not give receipts for purchases.
The cabin was more than adequate for one person. The balcony had room for two upright chairs and a small table. The desk was large and served as a bedside table on one side. There was a large screen TV, a shelf area for wine and glassware, a good mini-frig that was available for passenger use instead of being crammed with for sale items, a very good bed with excellent pillows. The walk-in closet was excellent; it had plenty of hanging space and shelves. The bathroom was small but worked well. The shower was tiny but was much better than having a bathtub to step into.
In St Thomas, I always stay in Havensight Mall and no longer venture into town. I have been here so many times.
We were docked in an interesting shopping and eating area with absolutely beautiful beaches available to everyone, within walking distance of the ship.
