We and our extended family have travelled numerous occassions with the MSC and had pleasant and fun experiences, but the recent trip with MSC Musica was a disaster.

We've made a few trips with the ship; Meditteranean cruise, Cruise to Maurituis, Durban to Portuguese Island, Cape Town to P.E to Durban. This was the worst trip ever, having to cram the whole journey in 2 days. We were rocking from side to side due to the speed. Our cabin toilet was filthy and bathroom had no towels. The bar fridge had a plate with left over food in it. I explicity requested vegetarian foods for a few of us, but the selection was seriously few and bad, even the desserts were terrible. (This was our first night on the ship.) The waiter at least arranged for a better selection of foods for supper on the last night at the restaurant for us. We could not dock in PE and it was race to get to Durban in 2 days.

The Embarkation was long and tiring, having to wait from 8am to 12 without refreshments and standing in a long queue in an unused warehouse which was bird envested and dirty, having to walk along the ailes to land up in the extreme hot sun without shade. Disembarking was another tiring exercise. We had to leave our bags outside our cabins by 8am and wait in the overly full lounge as we had to be out of our cabins by 10am. We were a group of 10 people, hoping to have a good long weekend on the ship but we were sadly disappointed. I used to tell my family and friends that the best holiday you can take would be on a cruise, I was terribly wrong!
