The ship and the itinerary were just what my wife and I wanted. We arrived a day early so we could poke around the shops/restaurants in Long Beach. Transfer to the ship was very easy. Our cabin was midship in case of stormy weather. We had a balcony and we spent quite a bit of time there watching the sea. Princess has equipped the rooms with new beds which slept very well. The ship has just returned to service after "freshening up" . Everything looked virtually new. Our first night out, we had dinner in the dining room and frankly, the food was mediocre and the service poor. Both the food plus the table service got better. We elected to visit some of the Premium dining and those were of very high quality.(I had a great Ribeye) We also picked one shore excursion in each port. In Cabo San Lucas we took the trip to Todos Santos which is about an hour inland. This town also has the famous Hotel California mentioned by the Eagles and where we had lunch. It was nice to get away from the port and there were far fewer people on the tour which made it more enjoyable. The weather was very nice at all of our destinations. (75 to 85 degrees) Mazatlan came the next day and our excursion was downtown on Segways. (very easy to learn to manuever) On Wed our final tour in Puerto Vallarta was whale watching from a high speed Zodiac. The guide was knowledgeable and we saw many Humpback whales. The Zodiac was much faster than the other boats which allowed us to cover lots of ocean in a short amount of time. Following Puerto Vallarta, we had 2 days at sea . We got lots of pool time and the food was much better than the start of the cruise. Disembarkation/ Customs was a snap and we got to LAX with hours to spare for our flight. We would definitely go back. It was so nice to wear shorts and sandals for a few days.

Went to a warm place

Princess could be doing more with the tv entertainment in the staterooms. There is a quick review of the excursions but has NO sound. Princess could use the tv entertainment to educate and sell the shore excursions. (audio with the sound of a Mariachi Band would be great) There was entertainment and news but is was sparse and could be expanded.
