We traveled with my brother and his wife. Both couples had always wanted to see the Norwegian fjords, so this seemed the perfect cruise. Both couples had sailed previously on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean, but none of us were prepared for the level of service, comfort, and cuisine that we found on Viking. If we could give Viking six stars, we would. Liked it so much that we signed up for our next cruise while we were still on the ship.
We especially liked the Chef’s Table restaurant and were able to eat there multiple times so that we were able to sample each of the distinctive menus paired with special wines (buy the beverage package upgrade!). Less so the Italian restaurant. Ate there only once. The buffet restaurant was excellent for all three meals. We especially liked the sushi at dinner time and the gelato at lunch.
What we liked best was that every detail was thought out, then perfectly executed. The only tiny glitch was at the end of the cruise when there was only one person on board to handle the VAT refunds, which led to a very long line, and a long wait. Only time that happened on the entire cruise.
