My husband and I enjoyed this cruise. We were dropped off at 11:30 at the port. Embarkation took about 1.5 hours so we arrived at our cabin at 1 pm just as the cabins were open. I give Royal Caribbean very high marks for allowing water and soda to be brought on board. Norwegian doesn't even allow one bottle of water to be carried on. There are merchants who sell stuff before you get on the ship and and in the promenade such as sea pass holders but they leave before the ship sails. So if you want one, get it before the ship leaves port. The Windjammer was packed at 1:30 but we manged to find a table. Food was typical for a buffet and pretty good Breakfast in the main dining room was very slow one day and faster on another day. We arrived before 8 am both days. Dinner in the main dining room was good and by dining at 5:30, we were able to make the 6:45 shows. The water slides were smooth and the Tidal Wave was fun. But it often closed during sea days for safety reasons. Lots of lounge chairs on deck although it was too cold to sit out on sea days. We ate lunch one day at Chops which was very good and about half the price as dinner there. All the ship's staff were friendly. The skating rink is only open a couple of days. At a prescribed time you can get skating tickets (free) for a later session. I went to the last session and the ice was pretty roughed up by then. The skating show was pretty good but if you want to go to the early afternoon show, get there at least 45 minutes early. Like many cruises, Royal Caribbean charges for many extra activities. I paid $20 for a 35 minutes floor exercise class. But you choose what you want to spend extra money on. In Roatan, we went zip lining and on an eco walk through Shore Excursions. It was about a 15 minute walk from the ship to the correct booth. In Costa Maya, we went to Chacchoben through Native Choice (Shore Excursions). It was at least a mile to get to the office and took about 45 minutes to get there, weaving through all the shops. They used a large bus (about 56 seats) and the bus was full. At the site we were divided into 2 groups. There was water on the bus but no pineapple stops. Next time I will book through Royal Caribbean as I only saved a few dollars and it would have been much easier to find the meeting places. In Cozumel, we bought a glass bottom boat with snorkeling tour from a vendor at the port for $35 each. Nine people on our boat and they had good equipment with water and soda. The water is choppy so taking motion sickness medicine beforehand is a good idea. A photographer took underwater photos for an extra fee ($20 for me and $30 for a family). For disembarkation, we were in the C group (carry all luggage off the ship). We left a few minutes before the C group was called. We got into an elevator going up with our luggage so we could be in it to get to the lower floor. It took 2 hours of standing in line to get through customs. The was after the government shutdown had ended. You would think they would have it a better system as they do it every week.

Cabin Review

Promenade View Interior

I was a little worried about noise but it did not bother us. One night there was activity until about 10:15 pm, otherwise activities ended much earlier, and we went to bed before 10 pm. There was a little extra room than an interior room and it was fun to watch the promenade activities, There was a mattress topper on the bed which made it very comfortable.
