We usually sail on the Princess Line, but decided to give Norwegian a try. We really liked the Breakaway ship and crew. Staff was friendly, attentive, and polite. The ship was clean and modern looking. The only criticism of the ship was the casino area, which reeked of cigarette smoke, especially the last few days of the cruise. It's too bad they still allow smoking onboard. The stench extends to other nearby areas and is not limited to the casino.

Our favorite place to eat, besides the buffet, was O'Sheehan's Pub. The food was great and it was a nice spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The Garden Cafe Buffet was very good as well, with plenty of variety and tasty theme nights. The only improvements needed there are those of the cruisers! Stop eating off your plate in line, be polite, and watch where you are walking - so many people are so absorbed in their food that they run you over. Be sure to use the antibacterial gel AFTER using the tongs to get your food if you don't want to be exposed to everyone else's germs. And clean up after yourselves a bit! If you have kids throwing food all over the place, clean it up. Oh, and it was our anniversary and we got a nice cake and bottle of bubbly :)

Our balcony cabin was spacious and well-appointed. I did not like the hair dryer's location (in the living area, not the bathroom), but I made do. Our cabin steward was nice and attentive, but did not hover over us, which was appreciated. The bed was too hard for me (I have hip bursitis), but a quick call to housekeeping resulted in an egg crate mattress pad which helped substantially. Luckily our room was in a quiet hallway without a lot of loud guests disrupting our sleep - but take ear plugs just in case!

Great snorkeling, not bad lunch, but armed guards on the beach and trashy island
