As our first cruise I was a little nervous of what to expect. The reviews of the grand, here, over the last few months have not been too good so I was worried that this choice of first cruise might have put me off for life! However, I found none of what had been said to be true. The staff were extremely kind and curtious and spent extra time playing with my little boy - who was made welcome, not only by the staff but by the vast majority of the passengers too! The passengers as a whole seemed like an extremely friendly bunch and although most were somewhat older than us in age, they certainly were young in spirit.
The ports - well if I never see another diamond's international it will be too soon but once you managed to get passed the sales terminals the ports led to some amazing countries. If you've never been to (or heard of for that matter) Grand Turk then it's definitely worth a trip - must be one of the most beautiful places that I have ever been to.
Food.. was good generally and considering the numbers they have to cater for the food in the dining rooms was excellent - The buffet was similar most days but we certainly never went hungry. Accomodation - nothing to compare to but we had a balcony cabin on the Baja deck and it was fine. We had enough space for us and a toddler but couldn't imagine 4 adults sharing (which apparently they could do in that cabin.) But sitting on our balcony watching the flying fish leap out of the turquoise blue Caribbean sea is definitely one of the high lights of the vacation.
B503 - Great near enough the lifts witout being too near. Average balcony cabin
