We were interested in going on a high end cruise. Viking filled the bill! From start to finish you can tell the difference. They call it the thinking mans cruise, and they are right. No loud party atmosphere. Soft music playing, Impeccable service, 5 star food and accommodations. We have been on almost 30 cruises, this one was right up on top. Viking strives to deliver high quality tours. There is one free tour daily and they are good tours. The paid for tours were great, too. They are very organized. Beer and wine is free with lunch and dinner, this was a nice touch. The ship was beautiful and new, our room was large and efficient. We had a deluxe balcony, very nice. Even the bath products are classy, they are Elemis products, another plus. The heated floor in the bathroom was great, s it was a bit chilly in Italy in March.
The room was very large and state of the art. There was a coffee station with an instant coffee machine that was very good and replenished daily. The bathroom was beautiful, heated floor, Elemis bath products. The closet was ample and a light came on when the door was slid open. The king sized bed and bedding were very comfortable. There was a mini fridge which was replenished daily with soft drinks. There was a small living room area with two comfortable chairs and coffee table. There was a flat screen TV with limited but ample channels. The balcony was small, with two chairs and a table. Again nice. The service was good, but he didn’t hover, but was there when we needed.
Taormina was by far my favorite tour, a beautiful little hillside village with an ancient ruin. Be sure to get a cannoli. They are wonderful.
Loved the little Truli houses. We actually ate lunch in a truli.
Actually a beautiful place to visit, we took a tour to Split, it was very interesting. Saw the castle where game of thrones was filmed.
