Chose this itinerary because prior cruises skipped Turks, and we had never visited Bonaire and Curacao. We dined at Tamarind, ok, Pinnacle , not as good as Oceania's steak house, and Ship's 1 night where they try to do a Michelin 3 Star at Pinnacle for a big sur charge. Nice experience , but 30 plus minute wait for 4 couples with 8 PM reservations for days and no tables set up....not a 3 Star experience. We most breakfasts and dinners at Club Orange....excellent preparation and service and friendly! Similar menu as Dining Room , but cooked to order in sight and served Hot. Plus special every meal, Veal Cutlet, was actually a 20 once Veal Chop Tomahawk with mushroom risotto, cooked to order - had that twice! Only time in Dining Room was Mariner's Lunch, weak!! Music in BB King's was excellent as was Rolling Stone Room! BBC' Planet Earth movie with surround screens and live orchestra was excellent. One comedian was very good, skipped dancers and juggler. Buffet was very good with lots of made to order salads and pasta. Open long hours for some of the choices. Have sailed 40 plus cruises on a dozen lines and now 104 countries and all 7 continents. 100 plus nights on Holland, but first in some years. All staff was friendly and efficient, but all Carnival owned ships need to pay their employees a living wage from the fares charged and not assess a daily charge to each passenger! We always have them remove those charges and tip directly , generously and frequently as service is rendered! Have always believed staff doesn't see much of what is actually collected! To get charge removed, much do it first day in writing!!

Nice, except for hours wasted due to security claiming Contraband- hair curler!

Cabin Review

Neptune Suite with Verandah
Cabin SA 7124
Nice suite with 2 great stewards. Extra large screen TV with multiple channels for movies, sports, news, etc. Full shower, spa tub, and separate commode room accessible from living area for guests. Oversize veranda and special coffee maker with multiple choices. Access to Neptune Club was nice, and 2 young ladies were very helpful and fun. Honor Bar there every afternoon still charged full prices and 15% gratuity even though we made the drinks! Royal Caribbean Club had drinks complimentary every afternoon and at every bar on the ship between 4 and 8!

  • Amber Cove
Jungle trek, was 11/2 mile trek to get to meeting point. we waited 45 minutes for 1 coupe couple , never showed. Nice guide, nice new bus. Trek was about 2 miles to pitiful waterfall, and pooled water, muddy where you could swim, climb ladder and slide or jump into water....passed. Guide showed us many different fruits which we tasted and differnt trees and leaves that they made medicine out of. Extremely rough rock paths, wished I had worn heavy sneakers instead of water shoes.... feet were beat up and could have easily sprained an ankle in rocks. $45 BBQ lunch, everyone passed. Rum punch on bus back....30 minute bus ride each way, most under construction and rough roads....spilled my PUNCH!

  • Sailboat Tour
Pirate boat tour with 3 snorkel stops. First was deep and 2-3 foot seas ! Last 2 were shallow and close to beach , not much to see. Decent equipment, open bar with mixed drinks , PUNCH but no beer. Served BBQ lunch, 3 ribs, chicken leg, rice and macaroni.....located $19 dollar cab ride each way from ship, company said $10 .....crew was fun and never stopped pouring! After snorkel crew rigged bosun's chair swing that people swung from and into the water. Crew did it and turned flips. One crew had girls ride on his back and did flips ! Capt had hs 3 year daughter who did swing and snorkeled!! Fun trip , but don't do it for the snorkeling or lunch.

  • Bicycle Rental
Electric bicycle tour, but several bikes quit working and others needed to change batteries. You must peddle whole time, electric only ASSISTS!! 30 mile ride , half against 25 knot winds on pot holed road.....guide truck had flat 15 mile from end and no spare! Marginal operation....

I was only one from ship. Guide had brand new van and had to drive a good distance to pick me up and return to ship. 4 others were staying a really big high end resort. Good equipment and first spot was from shore on crowded beach over collapsed pier. Vis was poor at beach with debris and trash. Out a way improved. Saw lots of different fish and some bigger ones. Second site was from shhore at the old sunken tugboat. A small ragged scuba operator there. Beach is rough rocks and sharp! Big Drill Ship tied up there. You have to swim out about 150-200 yards to get to tug site. Vis decent , not great. Guide gave us a tour of parts of town and forts and overlooks. Pleasant and local and spoke several languages.

Located fairly close to ship. Nice folks, decent equipment. Only 3 of us and captain and mate. Mate was in the water guide and snorkeled around entire reef. They provided food for fish in a bottle so we could feed as we snorkeled. Then captain cracked a conch, showed us how to clean it and we ate it raw, loved it. He threw food to rays and we had 8-10 around us near beach. He held big ray in his arms and had ray give us all ray back massages with ray's wings! Rays had their stinging barbs so don't step on them!! we hiked up to top of island for view and had all we wanted of his very good rum PUNCH! Would highly recommend, well worth $65 ! Operator said ship charges 50% commission, private agency onl 20%. We met Capt and mate for beers and conch fritters after at Shak....

  • Half Moon Cay
Transported to end of Island to stables, brief instruction , got helmet and locker and matched with horse. Land ride in single file through woods, pasture and on beach. Then break, different horse, water saddle, no helmet or shoes and a up and back on the horse in the water , a few gallops and horses bunched up some.$99.95 , a little high for tour, but ship's tour, so expected to be high
