Sail Date: Oct 2018

We chose this cruise for our honeymoon as it started in the Mediterranean and sailed across the Atlantic to the Caribbean.

Can honestly say it was the best holiday of my life, however it was my first ever cruise so I have nothing to compare it to. We had an inside cabin on deck 4 which was quite small but I wasn't expecting any larger and we barely spent any time in the room anyway. The cabin was kept pristine by our cabin steward Isaac who was fantastic. There was a TV and coffee / tea making facilities. Shower wasn't great, kept going between hot and cold on the same settings, we didn't complain about this at the time but in hindsight that might have helped. At the time we just put up with it. Didn't get a great sleep on the beds either, they weren't uncomfortable but I think I was missing my own mattress.

Plenty of choice for food and every restaurant we went to served great food, even in the marketplace (buffet style). Loved latitude and vista for our dinners, went to surf and turf once but didn't try other speciality restaurants. Loved having lunch in the Mediterranean, their pasta was lovely.

Cabin Review

Cabin inside

Small but kept well clean by cabin steward, sufficient space for needs.

Port Reviews

Madeira (Funchal)

Loved Funchal, would go back for a week. Got a ticket for the hoho bus, went on the cable car and wicker toboggans which definitely shouldn't be missed. Steep climb back down to the town where we got back on the bus and visited a fishing village, "camara de lobos". There was so much we didn't get the chance to do, if returning i will definitely book a whale watching excursion.

Malaga

Went to the alcazaba and gibralfaro, both were great. Lots of walking involved, lots of stairs if walking up but i think the hoho bus takes you to these stops if limited mobility.

Antigua

Didn't have much planned for this port, so when we got into port we got past all the people waiting to take you in taxi tours and walked for a bit before turning back to get a taxi tour. The tour only lasted an hour and he drove us around the whole island, tried some fruit which was nice but there wasn't an awful lot to see or do if you're not a beach fan.
