We choose this cruise for it's itinerary which was terrific. Two days in Maui, two days on the Big Island and two days on Kauai allows plenty of time to be on the islands, especially with no all aboard times the first day in Maui and Kauai since the ship stays in port overnight.
The service at the Skyline restaurant was painfully slow at times and the food was just okay. The main buffet restaurant was very slow to replenish food and utensils and again the food was just okay. Also, the ship had way too many pay restaurants and small shops to sell you extra items. (like gelato, nice looking bakery items, etc.). It felt like the ship was trying to nickel and dime you every chance they got.
I am not much of a drinker but $99 per day (and all members of your state room had to pay the $99 even if they were not drinking) is very excessive. If you are going on this cruise to drink, please factor this into your overall cost.
The staterooms are small, but very well designed and you can get a lot of stuff into the space and then easily put your suite cases under the bed. We had an inside stateroom and easily got two checked bags and two large carry on bags with 2 weeks of clothes and supplies into the stateroom and hid the bags under the bed for the entire cruise.
Security is a bit much. If you rent a car there is a hotel about a 15 minute walk from the ship that allows you to park your car overnight for $5. This was the best $5 spent our entire 2 weeks in Hawaii.
Easy on an off the boat. There is a very nice beach a short 10 to 15 minute walk from the ship.
