Having had the opportunity to view a great number of reviews before our trip, it certainly gave us a very good idea on what to expect, avoid & look forward to. Appreciating the people that took the time to submit a review, it's now my time to do the same for any future first time cruisers.
We were late getting into San Juan but that was an advantage as the process in getting onto the Serenade was timely & seamless. Knowing that it would be awhile before our luggage arrived to our cabin, we headed up to Windjammers on Deck 11 for some late lunch. This location served us well for all breakfasts and it has your traditional buffet style meals. I would recommend sitting on the outside patio at the rear of the ship.
We chose a ocean view cabin on deck 4 for our first time cruising and that was for several reasons. With the increased cost for a balcony cabin we decided to save the difference. In addition to that, we seemed to spend little time there except for changing & sleeping it seemed. The cabin was not huge but it was attractive & comfortable and that served us well. The bathroom is small and the shower even smaller but it got the job done. Other than noticing a mild motion of the ship on our first & last evenings, the ocean & ship was very calm.
