heard from others that South America cruise was unique, not to be missed -- a variety of cities plus a chance to see penguins, up close and go to the "end of the world" !
Embarkation in Buenos Aires was quick and easy.
Star Princess is a medium size ship, nice public spaces, with an active Piazza area.
Average size balcony cabin, slightly forward of mid ship. Good location easy to get to Lido deck buffet(back of ship) or gym (front of ship). Bathroom felt a bit smaller than other cabins but certainly manageable. Open closet makes it easier to get at clothing and decent shelf space. Large flat screen TV in corner (over the refrigerator). Two chairs and table on balcony. Comfortable cabin with new Princess bedding that is terrific.
We took a walking tour. Unfortunately this tour had close to 100 people - in other cities these tours generally divide large groups into 20-30 people -- this large crowd made it very difficult to enjoy the tour . We left about 1/2 way through - and walked around on our own. Lots of different neighborhoods and areas to see. We did not go to a tango show in the city but enjoyed tango expo on the ship.
We were unable to stop at STanley due to weather conditions; were scheduled to take tour to Volunteer Point to see penguins
city tour - including museum. Tour guide walked us through museum and gave us history of Puerto Arenas.
