The ship is very clean and livable. We enjoyed the regular dining room which had very good food. The only exception was the lack of lamb chops, lobster or crab which you had to get in the specialty dining restaurants for extra money. I also sorely missed having any salmon for breakfast. The protein for breakfast was eggs plus unhealthy bacon, sausages, etc. Service was exceptional, consistently. Our room 8039 was very clean with plenty of storage. Ports were very interesting though we had to skip Puerto Arenas due to strong winds. During the sea days we enjoyed card playing with friends and reading in the lounges. Strong negative: In cold weather, there is not enough seating in the buffet for lunch or breakfast. You stand around with your food, hovering around people waiting for them to leave because the outdoor seating is too cold to use. We ended up going to the dining room which is open only 90 minutes for lunch so you have to time it carefully. Similarly, the ship does not have enough seats in the lounges for people when the weather is cold as all outdoor seating is too uncomfortable. Some people brought their books to the chapel to find seats. The library has only two chairs which is so unsatisfactory. Clearly this ship is meant for warm weather cruising. Shopping is limited on board. There is much expensive jewelry, very cheap jewelry, a penguin themed store (really?) and much makeup/perfume. The ship is small so they do the best they can. We were disappointed there were no lectures on each port which would have been wonderful on sea days.
We had a great location, mid ship. The room is relatively spacious with a sofa, and two chairs on the deck which we brought in when we entertained. There is an in-room refrigerator. The showers are all tiny and you have to make sure the curtain is situated properly or you end up with water on the floor. TV worked fine. Bring adaptors for electric sockets. Hair dryer is awkward (long, flat vent) that blows your hair all over, so bring your own too.
Love this town. We have been here before so we wandered around on our own and took in a wonderful tango show/dinner.
