We were so excited to take this cruise- “escape” the NYC cold for 2 weeks. Checking in was quick and easy. The ship is HUGE- too big. So many people, so little room. The Atrium is too small for such a large ship. Pools were surprisingly small, as well. Itinerary was okay- nothing special. Stateroom was fine (except for the constant vibration), as was the balcony- when other passengers weren’t smoking... The entertainment was pretty lame, except for After Midnight, which was quite well done. The food was also a disappointment. Same food in the dining rooms and buffet. LOVED Le Bistro. Cagney’s and La Cucina were also pretty good- except for the service- S-L-O-W! Speaking of bad service- customer service on this ship was mediocre, at best. From guest services to hostesses at restaurants- almost felt like an “I don’t care” attitude. The rudeness of a lot of the passengers was mind-boggling. Not just to the staff, but to other passengers. I live in NYC, so I’m used to rudeness, but I’ve never seen so much pushing and shoving and bad behavior. It also feels like Norwegian is a nickel and dime organization. Then came the Norovirus... I can’t believe that people don’t know how to wash and sanitize their hands (washy-washy)! Next cruise will be on a smaller ship- probably not Norwegian... By the way, the best person we encountered on our trip was our room steward, Swapnil- so conscientious and nice.
