Always wanted to travel through the Panama Canal and the Star provided an excellent way.
The ship and it’s crew did not disappoint. The service was excellent, the food and beverages did not disappoint. Most of the entertainment was good.
The shore excursions left something to be desired. The descriptions overly exaggerated the actual excursion. Things described were not seen. For example, in Cartagena our Walking Tour was 50% stop the bus so street vendors could solicit their wears to a point of major annoyance.
Clean and comfortable.
Served our needs.
Took a tour named Beach Day at Monterrico. The beach was black sand as promised but there were no chairs to sit on the beach. The surf was extremely rough with a red flag flying and we were told not to swim there. We got the impression this was always the case.
They did have a nice pool area but how is this a Beach Day?
We should have stayed on the ship.
Took an excursion called Riva Lake Nicaragua and Scenic Drive.
Stopped at Riva to see dancers, a church and vendors.
Went to a farm on Lake Nicaragua with more vendors and a light snack
