This was our 3rd time on the Pearl, one of our favorite ships. Our last cruise on the Pearl was 8 years ago. We like the recent renovations as it made the ship seem roomier with the neutral, less busy color scheme.

Our cabin (5608 picture window oceanview aft) was our first so low in the ship and we were pleasantly surprised. The cabin was small but adequate with very little motion felt in the cabin. We could get to just about everywhere on the ship we wanted to go to very quickly. So deck 5 was good EXCEPT the cabin steward was barely average. We suspect Yong was new as he seemed to be flustered often, non-responsive at times and argumentative once or twice. This is not what we have experienced on any other NCL cruise and it surprised us. Needless to say, no extra tip for Yong was left at the end of the cruise.

We dined exclusively at the specialty restaurants, Cagney's, Teppanyaki, Le Bistro and Moderno. Our first night at Cagney's was disappointing, my ribeye was way overcooked and tough. Service was VERY slow. Teppanyaki, Le Bistro and Moderno were excellent, as usual. We noticed the Garden Cafe has pared down its number of lunch choices but what was offered was good. We did use room service for coffee and fruit in the morning BUT, did not get it one morning. Again, poor service....

Cabin OC

Renovated since the last time we were on the ship. Nice color scheme, good use of the small space. Good location on the ship to access nearly everything. Could use better lighting especially by the vanity area. And the tiny stool for sitting at the vanity area could have been more generous.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

Awesome tequila factory (the coffee flavored tequila is to die for) and restaurant with incredible food!

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We dont snorkel or dive and have seen the stingrays so this is simply an expensive shopping stop we can do without...would rather spend our day on the ship in the spa!
