We chose this particular cruise for the Itinerary. The Port choices on this itinerary were a very good choice. We booked 5 excursions and were pleased with all of them. Princess does a great job in embarkation and disembarkation, and the balcony stateroom was very nice, including the bed and bedding. We really enjoyed the Vines bar and the staff was as friendly as all staff used to be, back when started cruising in the 1980s. All other ship staff were nice, but seemed tired and unmotivated a lot of the time. We hoped for 1 formal night and had to endure 3 formal nights in 14 days. The Medallion worked great and the wifi was pretty good most of the time. Our balcony stateroom was very nice, including the bed and bedding. The pillows were excellent. Our steward was fantastic! The shower amenities were okay, nothing fancy. The fitness area and the spa area is beautiful and well worth visiting. The negatives of cruising with Princess: Food Quality, Show Quality and High Cost of extras. Princess has cut out all the extras - fewer shows, no dessert productions, smaller menu, fewer open hours in food places, and fewer activities. The coffee is absolutely horrible. We hated that it was instant coffee and were forced to pay for brewed coffee. The quality of the food continues to go downhill with Princess cruises. The formal night lobster dinner was okay but the lobster was about the size of large shrimp. The lunch buffet was open a very short time which sometimes did not align with our schedule. Sabatini's and the Planks were fine but not worth the upcharge. We actually saw some of the same food the next day in the buffet. We only had 2 great shows on a 14-day cruise; and there were even several days without a show at all. Overall, there were too many negatives on Princess, and we will likely try a different cruise line next time.

Our balcony stateroom was very nice, including the bed and bedding. The pillows were excellent. The bathroom amenities (shampoo/conditioner combo and soap) are just okay.
