So, we love to snorkel and we wanted to see the Amazon and we like to do this in the company of friends from Australia, so we chose Viking, because we knew we would be well looked after and have a memorable experience. And this is what we had!

Our cabin was comfortable and beautifully maintained by our steward. Our first day aboard, I requested more hangers and a teapot, as we are not coffee drinkers. These were provided almost instantly, along with a variety of teabags and sugar and honey. We later needed a sewing kit, which was also quickly to hand. I love the Freyja products in the bathroom and wish that they were available to purchase for home use. We also made use of the free, onboard laundry facilities, which allowed us to pack lightly from home. However, I would have appreciated early warning that the laundry would be closed to conserve onboard water while in the upper reaches of the Amazon. I would have seen to it that our laundry was done before venturing up the river.

We had been to several Caribbean islands in the past and had good snorkeling experiences. Viking does its best, but cannot provide good sea conditions for snorkeling. Our excursions for this activity were varied, and St. Thomas on our last day was a really good snorkel, while Tobago was certainly not.

Cabin Review

Cabin deluxe balcony (?)

The king sized bed was comfortable and the in-cabin entertainment was fine. It was convenient to use it to book seatings and excursions.
