We needed to 'get away' from the cares of life, and see a few places we had not seen. We thought this 2 WEEK cruise might be TOO LONG. But we enjoyed every minute of it, even the several days at sea!! The tours were reasonably priced (when compared to what was offered on shore), the food was excellent (as always on Holland America), the ship was older, but well kept and the service, of course on Holland America, was impeccable!! We would totally recommend this cruise and cruise line. The entertainment was average. The pools and hot tubs were clean and warm enough to swim in. It was a very quiet and relaxing journey. We were on the 4th level, with just a large window, but we were very happy there. The room stewards were very attentive to our needs. The servers in the dining room went the extra mile at all times. The food is always fresh and appealing, with many different items to chose from, even in the main dining room at night.
