We chose this cruise to celebrate our 25th anniversary and for it's length of time, number of ports and locations visited. We stayed at a small and very nice {clean} hotel/Inn, The Drift, which is about 1 1/2 blocks from the beach in Fort Lauderdale Fla. The strip along the beach is very clean and close to airport and cruise terminal. Getting on and off the ship was surprising easy and smooth going, this was our first trip with Princess so no "special" treatment was involved at that level. The ship was decked out for the Christmas Holidays and was very well done and festive. Our room was an Oceanview, clean with plenty of room and comfortable, except for the fold up bunk beds on either side of our bed which made the isles on either side of the bed a bit difficult to get down for a few days, by then you'd learned to lean over the bed as you made your way to the bathroom at night. Food was excellent as to be expected, with a good variety. We ate several times at the Crown Grill {specialty dining} and the steaks were outstanding, as well as the service and over all ambiance.

The activities and entertainment on board the ship were... what you'd expect on board; hard to get into, lacking appeal, or evolved around selling their wares and goods.

The service on board was also what you'd hope for and expect from a cruise... OUTSTANDING!!! {except for how a problem was handled by the service desk folks, you'd get friendlier service returning an item during the holidays at Walmart}.

Cabin Review

Oceanview

Cabin OF

Our room was easy to access using the "medallion" method {which unlocked your door as you approached}, rather then a room key card.

The room was good sized and comfortable, as was the bed. The shower was a bit small but functional and we did have a bit of trouble with the "hot" water which turned into a fiasco for several days{for which we were rudely treated by front desk personnel and complaints and request to talk with a manger ignored}.

Our stateroom steward was friendly and fun, quickly becoming the best interaction with ship board personnel, he took VERY GOOD care of us and our needs.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

The hotel/inn we stayed at was just off the beach and was very clean and surprising affordable considering the area we were in {breakfast cost almost as much as a nights stay}. The area was close to the airport and cruise terminal and the beach just 1 1/2 blocks away with several cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. Beach and surrounding areas were kept very clean.
