We have sailed on the Gem before and wanted to try one of NCL's larger boats. We chose this cruise for the boat size and the itinerary. We wanted to visit this area of the Caribbean.

We debarked from Miami and chose an earlier check in time. They boarded at 11 and everything went smoothly. We changed into our suits and found a beach chair to enjoy the sun in. I recommend bringing an insulated travel mug and a water bottle. There's no cups to bring coffee down to your room in the morning, and I also liked keeping my frozen drinks in it in the afternoons. We kept refilling our water bottles whenever we went onshore, which was really nice too.

We booked an interior cabin on Deck 5. We don't spend much time in the room and it's nice and dark for sleeping in! Our cabin had a king bed and plenty of storage for what we needed.
