We have sailed on the Gem before and wanted to try one of NCL's larger boats. We chose this cruise for the boat size and the itinerary. We wanted to visit this area of the Caribbean.

We debarked from Miami and chose an earlier check in time. They boarded at 11 and everything went smoothly. We changed into our suits and found a beach chair to enjoy the sun in. I recommend bringing an insulated travel mug and a water bottle. There's no cups to bring coffee down to your room in the morning, and I also liked keeping my frozen drinks in it in the afternoons. We kept refilling our water bottles whenever we went onshore, which was really nice too.

We booked an interior cabin on Deck 5. We don't spend much time in the room and it's nice and dark for sleeping in! Our cabin had a king bed and plenty of storage for what we needed. There are only 2 outlets, so I bring a power strip to recharge phones, tablets, etc. Our steward was Marcos and he was very helpful, polite and always had a cool towel animal for us!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Inside Stateroom

Cabin IE

You get what you pay for with an interior cabin. There was plenty of storage for us, and we keep it tidy to keep me from feeling too claustrophobic, but it's small. The bed was firm, but comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The shower is "tube style", but I'm a plus size person and had no trouble shaving my legs LOL. The tv is small, but who goes on a cruise to watch tv?!

Port Reviews

Harvest Caye

Wish your food and drink package was covered on the island, but it was still fun.

Costa Maya

We enjoyed the smaller, more "authentic" jungle feel of this port. Good shopping and beautiful to walk around.
