A new ship and we love the ships we have been on. Voyager, Radience, Adventure, Explorer. The Ovation is first rate. Extremely friendly staff, all helpful, pleasant and happy. The facilities on the Ovation are wonderful. Bump cars, sports, full size basketball court plus I fly, Northern Star, rock climbing, flow rider etc plus great live entertainment. Food could be a little better but still enjoyable. We experienced a lot of misinformation when planning this holiday. We were told we had to book ALL the entertainment and activities in advance by people who had been on previous Ovation cruises. This is NOT the case. You must check when you are doing your initial booking as Pixels is definitely a booking but we found out that you can still get in if prepared to wait. You must be in the Royal Theatre at least a half hour before start time to ensure a good seat. We had no trouble at all getting tables in the Windjammer Bistro or dining rooms. For a ship with around 5,000 passengers we hardly experienced any problems at all. Our three grandsons loved the cruise and the sporting activities. Some of the sports area staff are abrupt and not helpful which let the other staff down. Overall don't hesitate to book on this ship. We had a balcony cabin on the 12th floor. Great balcony area. Extremely comfortable room and top room service. The staff in the American Icon restaurant were first class. Couldn't do enough for us. Well done RCC
