We chose this cruise because a friend told us her husband found a good deal on a New Years Cruise. We have been on 29 cruises with another cruise line and thought it would be interesting and fun to try this line. If this had been our very first cruise ever, we would never go on another one. Embarkation was easy and quick. Our room was comfortable with a large corner balcony. But that’s where the positive ends. We discovered we were right below the buffet on the deck directly above us and we had to endure loud noises 24/7. Impossible to fall asleep. A maintenance worker told us they are setting up and tearing down constantly for meals. If that noise wasn’t bad enough, there were adults and children running through the hallway laughing and loudly talking, often in the middle of the night. A lady a few doors over told us she heard all the same noises.
There were probably 500-600 kids on this cruise and 90% of them were undisciplined, running wild all around the ship, screaming and screeching. Why not take kids on a Disney Cruise!
Food in the restaurant was barely warm at best, more often cold when served. Lobster was chewy, filet was not truly a filet mignon, tough, not tender. Couldn’t cut even with a steak knife. The buffet was set up crazy - for instance hot dogs, hamburgers in one area and the buns in another area. Kids running in and out of the lines, felt like they would knock us over.
Our cabin itself was good with a large corner balcony, but the location was terrible. The buffet was above us and there was loud noise 24 / 7 - rolling large metal cabinets constantly which sounded like living under a bowling alley, things being dragged across and were dropped on the floor above. Very difficult to get any sleep.
