This was the very first cruise for my husband and me, and we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Obviously, we have nothing to compare it to, but it met or exceeded our expectations in just about all areas. Embarkation and disembarkation were very smooth and quick. The ship was lovely and the cabin was perfect. We booked a suite, and the cabin was very spacious (which is important to my 6'4" hubby). I agree with other reviews that the balcony is pretty shallow.
We found the food to be excellent at just about every meal. We ate most of our suppers in the Club Class section of the Concerto dining room. Alfredo's Pizza was very good, as was Crown Grill. We were not impressed with Sabatini's. We both agreed that the two specialty restaurants (with upcharges) were not worth the additional cost, considering how good the food in the main dining room was. It was easily on par with Crown Grill and better than Sabatini's. The International Cafe (deck 6) was great for grabbing a quick little treat--pistachio pudding was the best! Other than one quick breakfast (which was good), we did not eat at the Horizon Court buffet.
We saw all of the shows by the Princess cast members, and I enjoyed them all. A guest soprano joined them for one production evening, and she was great! Found all the entertainment of good quality. We also booked 2 half days in the adults only Sanctuary, and I wish we had booked more. We payed premium for the cabana one day, but didn't feel like the extras were worth the significantly higher charge than just renting lounge chairs out on the deck. I could have spent all my ship time in that area, it was so relaxing, with excellent service. The service throughout the ship was for the most part excellent; we have no complaints. We booked our own excursions at each of the ports, so I have no opinion on excursions through the cruise line. St. Martin was definitely our favorite port, but we enjoyed them all.
The suite's interior was spacious, with lots of closet storage. The bathroom had a separate shower (good size) and tub, as well as separate room with toilet and second sink. The bed was very comfortable. I think our cabin steward came in and straigtened up almost every time we left our room. There was a concierge lounge for suite guests that always had coffee, tea, and snacks available. The sofa was not very comfortable, and the balcony was disappointing. It was quite shallow and missing 2 additional chairs that were supposed to be around the balcony table. It did have 2 chairs with small footrests/tables.
